Broome Cultural Attractions

Broome has a wealth and diversity

of cultural attractions.

 

There is much to see and do in the Broome Townsite or if you have a little more time, you may wish to visit one of the remote Aboriginal communities outside of Broome.

Town based cultural attractions that are well worth a visit include:

Magabala Books

The shop displays award winning indigenous publications from all round Australia , with a particular emphasis on the Kimberley . Magabala has a range of books that would make beautiful unique gifts or a great souvenir of your Kimberley visit. Opening hours: 9.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Minyirr Park

Learn about the oldest culture in the world and how Aboriginal people are maintaining their strong connection to the land and sea. With Minyirr Park the dreamtime birthplace, you can learn about the major song cycles, native plants and animals, and the bush medicines that are still in use on the peninsula. Pre-booked tours 9-12pm Monday to Wednesday, or on request. Cost: Adults $35 Children $9 (Price negotiable on group bookings).
